Catering Business for Sale in Beautiful Charlottesville

Charlottesville Catering Business for Sale

The catering business officially opened in 1991. Sales have ranged from $330K (after 9/11) to 568K in 2007, and last year 2011 at $346K  for a 15 year average of $429K. Besides the chef owner, there are two employees, one of 20 years, the other 11 years. The business is on the preferred catering list for the University of Virginia and on many other venue/ vendor lists. The business would be turnkey, including office, kitchen equipment, china glass silverware for about 150 guests and a 2003 box catering truck. There is no debt.

The business has been at the present location for 16 years with the current lease expiring September 15, 2013. New owner could easily negotiate (considering commercial real estate in Charlottesville) a new long term lease/ sale with the landlord, or could move to a new location.

The chef owner, 55, has been in the in the catering and restaurant business industry around town for years before opening this catering business, and is beginning to get tired and is looking to do something else, like work in a National Park. There is no pressing need to sell, so owner could train/clone a younger version of himself, stay around to answer the phone, merge with someone, etc. Just seeing what is out there.

New blood could really expand business by doing sit down dinners and more gala type events, which we currently do not do. There is also an under-utilized dance hall space (3200 square feet) at the location, which hosts dinners and dances.

Often marketers tend to lose focus on many marketing techniques to concentrate on a single one. This could lead to their business being devoid of the countless opportunities that the internet has in store.
